Welcome to my online website :-)
My name is Sirinya (pronounced like Serenia) and I am a transportation planner and the social media analyst at UCLA Transportation. My expertise is in the field of Transportation Demand Management but I am also very interested in the area of higher education web publishing and social media marketing.
Juan took me out on a lovely Diddy Reese snack break yesterday. We cruised through the Village, walked diagonally across the intersection of Weyburn and Broxton (thanks to the scramble crosswalk), and observed how long it took for vacated curb spaces to become occupied again.
- curb space on northbound side of Weyburn between Broxton and Westwood: under 30 seconds at 9PM
- curb space on westbound side of Westwood just south of Corner Bakery: approximately 3 minutes. We suspect this is due to the vacant storefronts next to this parking space. A vacant storefront doesn't really generate parking demand.
Juan also actively called out drivers for being parking pirates. A parking pirate is someone who insists on stopping his car to wait for a parking space, effectively blocking the flow of traffic, for an extended period of time.
